Megan W. Davis served as chief of staff to four presidents of the University of New Hampshire and was a member of the university’s President’s Cabinet, Executive Committee, and President’s Leadership Council. She served as search committee member and ex officio and liaison to the president in many searches for executive level leaders such as provost, vice president, associate vice president, and director. Throughout her career in consulting, executive search, higher education, non-profit foundations, and government service, Megan has been a trusted and versatile team member who understands the importance of discretion and diplomacy. She excels in politically complex, fast-paced environments, and is adept at building trust with a variety of organizational stakeholders. Through her service to chief executives across sectors, Megan has sharpened her expertise in crafting executive-level communications, collaborating with diverse constituencies, and advancing institutional goals.
Megan received her B.A. in History from Yale University. After college, she lived and worked for more than a decade in Washington, DC, serving in government positions including confidential assistant, Office of Presidential Personnel in the White House of President George H.W. Bush, and special assistant to a commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission. After completing her public service, Megan spent four years as director of operations at The Prince of Wales Foundation, the Washington-based 501(c)(3) charity of HRH The Prince of Wales. There, she worked in a high-touch fundraising and stewardship role, coordinated grant-funding, and managed staff. After leaving this role, she engaged in philanthropic consulting for private clients and foundations.
Megan is on the Board of Directors of The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH, a “National Treasure” of the National Park Service and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. She is the Music Hall secretary, a member of the Executive Committee, and chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee.
